Liner Notes
"This was probably the earliest song I wrote for the album, and I had this floating round since my art college days. Bitter, twisted, angry, self-loathing... all that shit. This was the closest I came to emulating a Prince record in terms of recording. I recorded myself playing drums first, then acoustic guitar, electric, bass, vox, mellotron, and hey presto, there was the track! It only took a few hours, and everyone thought I was mad because of the big gap in the drums. My finest drumming moment!"

Lyrics
You, Who Do You Hate? (Album Version)
You're a child, you are weak You are precious, you won't speak
And if I ever lived again I wish I could be you If I ever loved again I wish I could be you, yeah You, yeah, I wanna be you, yeah I wanna be you, yeah, I wanna be you
How can I expect you to believe When I don't even believe in me?
And if I ever lived again I wish I could be you If I ever loved again I wish I could be you, yeah You, yeah, I wanna be you, yeah You, yeah, I wanna be you, yeah
You, yeah, I wanna be you, yeah You, yeah, I wanna be you
